THE PRESENT HARDSHIP IN THE COUNTRY

A man was lamenting about the hardship people are going through in the the country these days. He said that the situation has escalated that people are placing watch out on their possessions especially food stuffs because of possible theft from neighbor hood and people around due to hunger and starvation. People no longer steal valuable items but food stuffs like yam, rice, cassava, and even soup on fire just to survive. May Almighty God get us out of this economic downturn.

FUNNY THINGS ARE HAPPENING THESE DAYS

The harsh economic situation in Nigeria is making people to indulge in criminal acts just to ensure that they survive.
A true live story was told of a man who stopped by a newspaper stand to buy some dailies. After requesting for two newspapers and the vendor brought it to him in his car, he stretched forth #400 to pay for it. Before the vendor could collect the money, a man from nowhere suddenly snatched the money from the man who was buying the newspaper and he said " My family is dying of starvation and you even have enough that you are buying two newspaper at once"
It is funny but on a serious mood people are not finding it easy. The economic situation is making people do unthinkable things. May Almighty God get us out of this quagmire.

HOW CAN WE INTERPRET THIS DREAM

A Father narrated a story of a dream his four years old daughter had early this morning.
In the dream, she was walking with her friend and suddenly, she saw the cloud and the sun descending to the earth. Immediately, she started crying for help but her friend abandoned her and ran away. She was left stranded and helpless as she continue to cry for help. Suddenly she saw Jesus, He appeared to her and carried her away.
I am not a good interpreter of dreams but it is obvious that something is about to happen which we do not know.
 

INCREDIBLE ! PRICES OF TOMATOES CRASHES IN NIGERIA.

Before now, tomato was a no go area for a  common man in Nigeria.  The price was so high that many families took to other alternatives to tomato? It is a big surprise today to see a basket of tomato being sold for eight hundred Naira  only as against what it was  sold few weeks ago when a basket was sold as from nineteen to thirty thousand Naira only.  This is the first time  this kind of  tomato scarcity is happining  in Nigeria. We pray that it will continue to come down the more, so that the Common man will enjoy.

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION WITH CHANGE.

When I was telling people that I want to celebrate my sixty one year birth in a different way, they did not believe me. I wrote on Facebook that I will only provide pounded fufu known as Akpu (cassava) in my native language without the soup that goes along with it, they did not believe me. I told them to bring their own soup to eat it. And that was exactly what happened yesterday when the birthday was celebrated with powerful prayer session . I only provided water and a little rice that was not up to four cups. Plus the Akpu, but no soup. My friends surprised me. Some brought bitter leave soup, others brought draw soup, some brought drinks and wine, one donated cake.  Food and drink was so much. My friend  fried chicken, fish and goat meat.  God now performed the miracle Jesus did in the marriage feast and on the feeding of more than five thousand people  with five loaves of bread and three fishes. God was multiplying all the food and drinks that we have a lot of leftovers. This my birthday this year was celebrated with the slogan Change. It was a birthday celebration with change. Praise God.

ELECTION WITH EASE.

I have been participating in all kinds of elections throughout my life. Going through the rigours, hazards and stress of it all. One gets discouraged in going out there to vote. The credibility of the vote cast is also one of the discouraging factors making people to avoid going out to vote. The just concluded e-voting by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in electing their officers is a giant step towards a credible election.  And I will advice that all other elections should follow the same pattern.it was so easy for me to be accredited and to vote. This is superb , I could not believe it, no queuing , no hassle, no stress , name it. Just vote through your system or your phone from the comfort of your home or office or any where you are. This is a step worthy of emulation . Long live the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) keek it up.

GOING BACK TO MY GRAND PARENTS COOKING ERA.

Different types of supplements are in circulation nowadays . One get more confused everyday  as new ones are released into the market. More especially those that are into networking . I checked back how my grand parents cooked those delicious food in their time without adding any condiment ,yet they did not need any supplement to live a healthy life. . I have decided to sit down, think and analyze how my grand parents made it then,and follow suit.

GOOD BYE MOHAMMED ALI.

We join millions of people all over the world to mourn an  icon who has gone to the way of his ancestors.  Mohammed Ali , the greatest as he was fondly called , died at the age of seventy four (74) . He is survived by a wife and nine children . He was a champion in the boxing ring , as well as a freedom fighter.  May his soul rest in peace. Goodbye the boxing king.

I SUGGEST LOW KEY MARRIAGE UNTIL........

With all these stories in the media of husbands and wives hunting and killing each other these days, I suggest henceforth , that intending couples should stop doing elaborate weddings, until they spend at least forty years together  in married life, Or when death do them part. It is heart breaking to see couples whom  the world gathered to celebrate their marriage, live like cat and mouse to the extent of trying to hurt or kill each other. I have always adviced in any wedding ceremony I attend , that the newly weds must live in peace. What is the need of spending so much money on your wedding, when you know that you were not meant for each other, or that you are not ready to sacrifice for that marriage? It is time for people to stop spending so much on their wedding day . As they advance peacefully as the years go by, they can now have a reason to celebrate.

WANT TO BUY A FAIRLY USED CAR?

We learn every day of our life in all aspects of life. We might be academically educated,but we are not knowledgable in all things. And so , I added to my knowledge on buying second hand cars when I escorted a friend of mine to buy a fairly used car . We saw two similar cars of the same make , and the difference in their prices was much. When I wanted to know why their prices was so, the dealer told me that car A was owned by a woman ,while car B was owned by a man. He went further to educate me on second hand cars. He said that , any body who wants to buy quality and durable second hand car, should first look out for cars owned by women .He said that women are very  careful in driving car, the mileage in their cars are not much compared with men's cars. Women do not enter gallop and potholes like men do. They do not travel far places with their cars. People rush to buy cars owned by women because women are better managers , even in managing cars.i hail you women.

IN THOSE DAYS.........

In those days, one of the qualities  that makes a woman a good bride, is the ability to sweep . The way she bends down to sweep, and the way  she sweeps the edges of the house, fence etc matters a lot. A would be bride can be disqualified just because of her inability to sweep. Time has changed, and women are no longer subjected to this type of tradition . No body cares to know whether the bride can sweep or not. Love covers everything .

PLEASE HAVE A RETHINK

I call on all those people in Government in some Countries ,who's motive to be in power is to run the treasury down, to please have a rethink , repent and return all they have stolen.  It is disheartening, each that I hear that one person alone stole billions of money in the past while in office. It beats my imaginations. Must they steal? Upon all their huge salaries and allowance?  Yet, a poor man that steals a cup of grain because of hunger  is thrown into Prison. Those in Authority , please stop stealing , have a RETHINK.  You are in that office to serve your Country and not

MUST YOU KILL HER?

This morning , I got a news that another man killed his wife in my country. Stories of men killing their wives is so rampant now. Many young people are scared of getting married these days. Married people are not giving the young ones encouragement to marry. Most married people , live a pretentious lives outside but it is hell in their homes. They fight and hurt each other emotionally and physically. It will not end their, they resort to killing one another. The question I want to ask the men is this, "Must you kill your wife to prove your point?" Why don't you send her packing? Send her back to her parents instead of killing her.  And you woman , run for your life whenever your life is being threatened .

TOMATOES CRISIS IN NIGERIA .... OTHER ALTERNATIVES

Most families in Nigeria can't do without tomatoes in their meals. They use tomatoes in almost every food they cook ,with the exception of a few of their traditional soups. There is always scarcity of tomatoes during the rainy season in Nigeria, but never in history has it's price soared so high as it is now. I wrote about "win the war soup" before, another way to cook soup/stew without tomatoes.  We can honestly look for an alternative to tomatoes. There are alternatives like 'tatashe', carrots (grounded or grated), chillies, and vegetable sauce to mention a few. You can also use red oil/ palm kernel oil to cook local Jollof rice. This scarcity will not be long.

UNGRATEFUL PEOPLE!

Jesus healed ten lepers in the bible but only one out of the ten came back to say Thank you to Jesus.  The one that came back to appreciate was made whole. To my understanding , being healed and being made whole are two differen things ,you can be healed but you may not be made whole. The leprosy may go , but the scars will be visible . But when you go back to say thank you to God , both the leprosy and the scars will go completely . This also applies to us human. We always pay the people that helped us with evil. Instead of going back to say thank you to the person that helped us , we rather pay that person with evil. And so I heard one story that pained me.  A widow  (mrs A )sent her daughter to another widow (mrsB) to help her daughter to repeat Senior Secondary school examination . Mrs B, did the whole registration without requesting for a dime from Mrs A.  Mrs A's daughter lived with Mrs B for  almost four years because Mrs B took up the entire training of Geg who is Mrs A's daughter up to the University level immediately after Geg's secondary school education.  Geg has long graduated with flying colors and has gone back to her mother. The most annoying thing there is that Geg and her mother have not even called Mrs B by phone or come by person to say thank you to a widow who left her tears to wipe another widows tears. Secondly, Geg made sure she did not leave until she tarnished her helpers name in their neighborhood . You know how hard it is to train your children in the University? This is what you will do for somebody that you do not know , but instead of that person going in peace without even thanking you, they will spoil your name and leave ,claiming that all their achievements are because of their ability. We must try not to be ungrateful folks so that we can achieve our maximum on earth. We need to remember the person that helped us in the past.

HOW I USE MY COCONUT OIL.

I wanted write on the different ways you can use coconut oil, but on a second thought.,I changed it to how I use my coconut oil. I want to be practical about it. What I have used and tested is what I will give you and not the ones I have read from books and the Net.  I grew up to see my mother and maternal grandmother cook Jollof rice with coconut water, not oil, we drank garri, eat breadfruit (ukwa in Igbo language ) ,eat fresh corn with coconut.  But I did not see them extracting the oil or using it for other things. May be they did, but I have not seen them doing it. As time went on , through interactions with friends and groups, I learnt a lot about coconut oil and it's uses. I will just give you a few today. I use coconut oil  as (1) A moisturizer. (2) salad and food dressing  and (3)healing balm. Details of 1,2&3 will be some other time. How I use my coconut oil!

WRONG PRAYER INDEED

I was called upon one day to pray for some people in one occasion . I prayed for them , and I asked God to grant them all their prayer request. Soon after the prayer, one of the prophets in that place, shouted at me. " Nonye! That was a wrong prayer to pray" . While I was wandering about all that I have prayed for, he shouted again. " Do not ask God to grant people all their heart  desires again, what of if their heart desire is to do evil or to hurt you that is praying for them.?"  As I pondered on his advice, I told him to teach me the right thing to say.  This is the way he framed it .   "..............father grant them all their heart desires that are according to your plan and purpose for them............" In this way, he said ,the righteous God will filter the prayer and answer righteously .       I think it is a good advice. What do you think?

WIN THE WAR SOUP.

We all know that this period is not a season for tomatoes in Nigeria. I hear people complain about the high cost of tomatoes in my country. Well , if you did not stock tomatoes for this season, please follow my tips below to make stew without tomatoes.  Blend all the under listed ingredients together . Fry with a little red oil to your satisfaction. Add salt ,water and Maggie to your taste. Eat with rice, yam, potato ,plantain, beans etc.                                                                                                        THE INGRIEDIENTS...........       garden egg,  cabbage , carrot , onions, Irish or Sweet patoto,garlic and ginger.  This is what we call .... "Win the war soup" try it. You will like it.

MISSING EGYPT AIRPLANE !

I woke up this morning to hear the news of the missing Egypt Airplane from my daughter . Initially , I thought it was a dream. Alas, it was not a dream. All the news media carried the news. I have not been myself since I heard about it. My heart goes out to the families of all on board the AirPlane. I can only imagine their pains and agony.

NUCLEAR WHAT?.... PLEASE HAVE A RETHINK!

Every time , I read about Nuclear war, Nuclear weapon, Nuclear this, Nuclear that. I wonder what they want to destroy with all the nuclears. Definitely , it must not be humans.  But actually , they will use it to destroy both humans and properties. Do these warmongers know that humans do not live forever on earth? Why can't they allow people to live out their appointed time on earth instead of sending people to their early grave, and in such a horrible condition. Can the manufacturers and users of Nuclear weapons have a rethink of what they are doing. The highest a man will live on earth is a hundred and some tens of years. Why cut the life short with cruelty . Please have a rethink.

WHAT DO WE THINK ABOUT WOMEN THAT BEAT THEIR HUSBANDS?

I stumbled on a write up a couple of weeks ago. A man was saying that there is too much noise about women being abused by men, but we forgot to also address the situation where women abuse men.  As I pondered on that write up, I remembered one or two instances where I witnessed women physically abusing their husbands. One was when I was young at Onitsha , where this woman beat the hell out of her husband on the street. As the woman punched her husband, he (her husband), will be shouting  " ego mu egbuo muoo" meaning " my money has killed me " . They were nicknamed " ego mu egbuo muoo " .
Another experience I had was just about seven years ago where a woman told me how she was slapping her husband and the children rushed in thinking that it was the husband that was beating her, but turned back when they saw her beating the husband.   Some women actually abuse their men.                                                                                                                                    What do we think about women that beat their husbands?

IS THERE ANY NEGATIVE EFFECT ON CHILDREN ?

Some Parents in the place  where I come from are in the habit of moving their children from one private school to another , not because of change in their work or location, but because they do not want to pay their children's school fees. They allow their children to go through all the mental turture of singling them out during the school fees drive in the school. And each term or section, these children are being moved from one school to the other without their parents settling their school fees both present and past debt. The whole process of humiliation start all over in every school the children are taken to. My question is , " Is there any negative effect on these children whose parents are indulging in this attitude ?

CAN ONLY WHAT YOU EAT PROLONG YOUR LIFE?

I read the story below from Yahoo mail about The Only Person Amongst all those Born in the 1800s that is still alive as of today,they attributed her longevity to  Her Diet , which they say is Incredible and very bizarre . The diet is taking two raw eggs a day since her childhood . In my own opinion , i do not think that it is only the raw eggs that has prolonged her life thus far. I believe that , first of all, the hand of God is upon her and there must be other factors too which they did not mention.We will be glad to hear from the public, the reason behind longevity in man.       Can only what you eat prolong your life?                                                                                                                                   Full story below from yahoo. As of Thursday, Emma Morano is the only person on Earth who was born in the 1800s. She credits her longevity to her very bizarre diet.

The 116-year-old Italian woman isn't gluten-free, vegan, or Paleo. She's not gulping green smoothies or snacking on superfoods. Morano told the Associated Press she eats two raw eggs a day. Yes, really.

Since developing anemia as a child, Morano has been on the raw egg kick. It was her doctor who suggested she should add the eggs to her diet when she was just a young girl. 

"He told me to eat two or three eggs a day, so I eat two eggs a day," she said.

Morano's secret doesn't mean we should all be slugging back egg yolks in the name of health. Even though instances of egg-related salmonella have reportedly decreased since 1998, eggs for human consumption are probably better off cooked, because hey — why risk it? GIRL KIDNAPPED BY HER UNCLE FOUND ALIVE.

We do not know who to trust these days. The person who is supposed to protect you, is the same person who will harm you.  Most of these evil are committed by the same people who you least expect to. How can an Uncle to a nine year old girl ,have the liver to kidnap his brothers daughter ?  Parents should use this story to please tighten up security of their children both at home and outside their home.    

This was what happened to a nine year old girl in Tennessee , USA, where her Uncle was accused of kidnapping her. The girl has  however, been found safe and  healthy and the uncle is now in police custody. Thanks to the property owners who held the uncle at gun point while they called 911 in Dense Woods, at a remote rural area.                                                                                                          Parents should tighten up security around their children.

FIVE YEAR OLD GIRL MISTAKENLY SHOT HERSELF.

A five year old girl in Detroit USA, mistakenly shot herself with her grandmothers shot gun  she was playing with. The gun was kept under her grandmother's pillow. She died as a result of the gun shot.       How will this story be told?  How will this grand mother live the rest of her life, knowing that it was her shot gun that killed her own granddaughter ? WOMAN GIVES BIRTH AT SEVENTY!

Will you want to bring forth a child into this world at the age of seventy? For that matter, the child will be your first child ever?  This is what happened in New Delhi ,Indian . Where a woman gave birth  to a bouncing baby boy at the age of 70 . The nursing mother who gave birth through the treatment of IVF said that her life is  now complete. Her husband is seventy nine years old, and they have been married for forty six years without any child.                                                                                                 They knew that age is not on their side, people were talking about the faith of the boy if this couple are no more. But the husband , trusting God Wholly said that he knows that  God will watch over the child's life.                                                                                                                                           What a faith? May God keep the couple alive, give them strength and good health to see this child grow into manhood.

MOTHERS DAY TRAGEDY!!!!!!

Why should people take pleasure in killing their fellow human being? What crime will their victim commit that will give them the impetus to murder them? These were the questions many people asked last week as an eight year old boy watched his mother die of wound sustained by spontaneous shooting in their packing lot on Mother's Day.                                                                                         The eight years old boy who was eager to give his mother a Necklace he bought for her for the  mother's day celebration, did not after all give her the gift, as her mother was shot dead in front of him . His mother,Angelina Pressley was said to be shot severally in her apartment parking lot on Sunday , Mother's Day. She was declared dead instantly. The Police is still investigating the incident .

50 YEAR OLD KILLED IN GERMAN TRAIN KNIFE ATTACK

It is becoming too dangerous to travel outside ones home these days , because of all these killings here and there. No where is safe now. This is what happened In Germany this Tuesday as a man who left his house was stabbed to death on the train.  A 27 year old  German man is now in the Police custody for his role in the knife attack at the Train station, south of Germany, that saw the death of a fifty year old man and leaving about three people seriously injured.                                                       The attack which was said to be politically motivated happened  in east Munich, Germany . The fifty year old man was rushed to the hospital where he died shortly. God save the whole world .

EXTRACT YOUR OWN COCONUT OIL AT HOME

Coconut oil is very useful to mankind in different ways . You  extract it manually at home without a long process . Let us start with only one whole coconut. It is better to use a dried up coconut for efficient results. Break and remove the coconut from its shell. Wash and grate with a local grater, or blend in a blender. Pour the paste in a bowl. Boil two small cups of water. Not at a boiling point. Pour the hot water little by little into the paste and stir with a wooden spoon. Leave the mixture for an hour and the oil will start settling on the surface. Scoop the oil out. For better results, leave the mixture overnight . If the oil is mixed with water, bring it to boil until the water dries up.  You can use the oil for different things. Stay with me next week for different uses of coconut oil.

Yet, many news media carried the news including CNN.                                                                                                                                 It will be a terrible thing to happen to this generation if this Naked Restaurant is allowed to open and operate in London. If it succeeds, different nations will copy it. It is said that over 32,000 people signed up for the chance to dine at Naked Restaurant . Signing up is not a guarantee to get the chance to dine , because, it will only take only 42 dinners at a time. All the dinners must line up naked at the Restaurant .                                                                                                                                                  End time . Isn't it? Will you sign up for it?

FLORIDA MAN KILLED HIS ELDER BROTHER OVER BURGER.

Yesterday was Mother's Day .last week saw families gearing up for this day that is set aside to honor mothers . The whole week was full of activities for this great day. Families were in happy mood shopping, sending flowers and gift to their mothers. Cooking delicious meals and eating outs.             But there is a family that would have wished that week never come, and that is the family of the Middendorf, where the whole joy of the Mother's Day week was turned into sorrow and mourning, as the junior Middendorf, Benjamin, shot his elder brother over a Burger disput.                                   This incident happened after the family returned from drinking out in the night.                                            Can we see how this woman, lost her two sons in a twinkle of an eye?  One son dead, the other will face the law, never to return back to the mother. This is what the enemy used to pay her for all the troubles she went through in giving birth and training those children up to that age.                                   God help mothers.

MERCURY PASSES IN FRONT OF THE SUN TODAY MONDAY .

Mercury will pass in front of the sun today Monday . This is happening for the first time in ten years. You can not see it with your naked eyes, it will appear as a black dot for period of its transit, which may be about seven hours and some minutes, at about 7:12 am and 2:42pm EDT.   NASA disclosed.                              Mercury is the smallest planet in our Solar System. It passes between the Earth and the Sun about thirteen times in a century.  The last known trek was in 2006, while the next one is expected to be in 2019. People are advised to use to view it with a telescope or a high powered binoculars.

TODAY IS MOTHERS DAY

Today is Mother's Day . A day set aside to appreciate all mothers almost all over the world.  The worth of mothers can not bequantified no matter how we weigh it. Where do we start? Many people have been buying gift for their mothers, sending goodwill and thank you messages to them . Mothers are in turn praying and blessing their children.                                                                              Chatting with two or three mothers early in the day about the mother,s day celebration, one of the mothers told me that the best gift her children will give her is to be godly, law abiding ,hard working children . Excelling in their different endeavors  . Being in good health etc.  my joy as a mother, retorted my friend, is to stay alive and see my children fulfill their God given destiny on earth. Having good children is better than buying the whole gift in the world for a mother.. A mother whose child is a rogue or a bad guy ,will not be happy to celebrate today as a mother,s day.  Children make your mother,s to be proud of you. Mothers ,do not relent in praying for your children .  God bless you mothers. HAPPY MOTHER,S  DAY.

MAN KILLED BY TRUCK IN HIS HOTEL ROOM.

A man was killed in his hotel room in Texas last Friday, by a truck that drove off the Texas freeway.  The truck slammed the hotel room , hit the first floor of Studio 6 hotel killing  a 52 years hotel guest , while the truck driver sustained only a minor  injury.                                                                               Our going out and coming in is in the hands of the almighty God. Who will blame this hotel quest for lodging in the hotel? May his soul rest in perfect peace.

PRAY FOR CANADA THIS WEEK.

The wildfire outbreak in Canada should be a concern to the whole world. I urge the whole world to use a minute everyday this week to pray for Canada. Distance is not a barrier in prayer.  Let us pray that this Wildfire will stop, and lives and properties saved. If you are living nearby, please do not fail to extend a charity hand to the displaced people. God have mercy on Mankind.

When his girlfriend wanted a new house, the 48-year-old Indiana man surprised her by making an offer on one and moving her belongings in. When she asked for a BMW SUV, Harris drove up in the luxury vehicle and told her it was hers.

One slight problem, though: Harris didn’t own the house, and he stole the BMW, the Indianapolis Star reported.

He was charged with burglary and theft with a series of incidents in April, chiefly an attempt to purchase a $147,000 home in Indianapolis. After making an offer in early April to purchase the home, he was informed other bidders who made higher offers were still under consideration.

But when a local realtor later went to show the home, she noticed the “For Sale” sign was gone and the locks had been changed. Three days later, another realtor noticed the same thing. Meanwhile, neighbors noticed that moving trucks were at the property all day Thursday. Harris also had the lights, water and Internet service changed to his name.

In a text conversation with officials from CastleRock REO, the company handling the sale, Harris said he was under the impression he now owned the home because he made an offer. When told he was going about the sale incorrectly, Harris responded by saying he was moving in and sent CastleRock officials selfies of himself at the home.

On April 15, police were called to the home on reports of trespassing, where they found Harris and his girlfriend. His girlfriend said the couple had been dating since January and that Harris told her he was a millionaire who bought her the BMW parked outside. When she found the home online and told Harris she liked it, a short time later he told her he had bought the home and she could move in.

A check of the vehicle, however, found that it had been stolen from Carmel, Indiana. Inside the vehicle, Harris kept a book called “TrumpNation: The Art of Being The Donald.”

Harris was taken into custody at the scene. He remains in the Marion County Jail without bond.

Tons of dead fish were said to be seen at lake Hainan province in southern China.  The astonished residents said they woke up to see piles of dead fish, which could be up to 35 tons in the lake.  The Sanitation employee were seen busy trashing the fish to prevent them from getting into the market.     Our prayer is that the whole fish will be trashed completely . These fish must not find their way to the market. What killed them must be dangerous to humans.

Yahoo mail)                                                                             Missing Michigan Woman's Body Found in Childhood Friend's Attic After His Confession: Police

The 10-day search for a missing Michigan woman ended tragically Tuesday when her childhood friend allegedly walked into a police station and confessed to killing her, PEOPLE confirms.                                                                                                                                       

         
Jordan McClanahan was taken into police custody Tuesday after allegedly admitting to  strangling 21-year-old Jessica Leigh White at his Hazel Park, Michigan, home.

White’s body was found in an attic crawl space behind a false wall in McClanahan’s bedroom. The access point to the space was hidden behind a cabinet, Hazel Park Police Department Chief Martin Barner tells PEOPLE.

“Unless you knew it was there you never would have seen it,” Barner says.

Police believe McClanahan stored White’s body in his attic after killing her two weeks earlier.

White was reported missing by her family on April 23, and was last seen with McClanahan the night before she was reported missing. Barner says White’s family became worried when they couldn’t reach her. The 21-year-old didn’t have a history of running away and was close with her family and community.     

“She was a very passive girl, very loving, very giving and would do anything for anybody,” Barner says. “A genuinely a good person.”

Prior to his alleged confession, McClanahan had told authorities he last saw White she asked him to drop her off in Detroit to meet up with friends. His story set off a mass search effort that included multiple law enforcement agencies and volunteers, including McClanahan himself, Barner says.

McClanahan’s confession comes as a shock to the community: “I don’t think anything can prepare you from what came out of his mouth,” Barner tells PEOPLE.

Hazel Park, a suburb of Detroit, has not had a homicide in six years, and White and McClanahan were good friends – growing up together since grade school.

“It’s a tragic incident based on the nature and circumstances of their relationship,” Barner tells PEOPLE. “Any death investigation, especially a homicide, is particularly tough. We all have friends, cousins, daughters and sisters who were that age.”

Police are unable to comment on what McClanahan used to allegedly kill White. According to an autopsy report, White was strangled to death. The motive for the killing is still unknown.

“Evidence and facts will lead you to what occurred, as for the why? Sometimes you’ll never know and we really don’t have a ‘why’ in this case,” Barner tells PEOPLE.

McClanahan is scheduled to appear in court Thursday afternoon for an arraignment.

A leopard at a South African game reserve snatched a six-year-old boy and ran off with him.

Little Kellan Denny was attacked and dragged away by the big cat at Kruger National Park.

As the male leopard ran off with the youngster, his father Justin chased the big cat and screamed out: “No! No! No! This can’t be happening.”

Kellan was dragged 30 metres by the leopard who had sunk his teeth into the boy’s shoulder before he was recovered.

Justin was able to retrieve his son after the leopard dropped the boy from his jaws. Kellan, who is said to be ‘quite traumatised’ is now recovering at home.

He had been playing with his eight-year-old brother near a wall when he was attacked and dragged off by the big cat.

Officials at Kruger think the leopard was hunting at the time which is why he attacked the youngster.

Kellan was running along the wall when he was called back for lunch, Justin told the local Cape Argus newspaper. But Kellan ran along the wall one more time which is when he was attacked.

His father said: “By the grace of God, it dropped him.”

“I picked him up and rushed him back to the rondavel (African-style hut). A neighbour arrived with his wife who is a nurse.”

The boy was eventually taken to hospital and received stitches as well as a tetanus injection.

He has now been dubbed “leopard boy” by his family.

Officials at the park, which is north-eastern South Africa, said nothing like this had happened before in more than 40 years.
